Tried Channa Kitchen for the first time at the NE Winter Market in April, and WOW—I’m still thinking about that curry chicken roti. The flavor was perfect: warm, just the right amount of spice, and packed with rich, aromatic curry goodness. The roti was soft and chewy, wrapped around a super generous portion that totally filled me up and made my whole day. You can taste the love and skill in this food. Highly recommend!

So good! I had a craving for Trinidadian food and this hit the spot! Doubles were so good, we got the curry chicken and the stew chicken and split them. My god, the favors! The pepper sauce is hot without being too much if you usually do “slight pepper” out of caution, but it’s on the side so do you. Next time I’m gonna ask for more tho, heck, I would buy a bottle.

I had been wanting to try this place for awhile and it did not disappoint! We finally had a chance to check it out this weekend. Tried their doubles, Aloo pies ( weekend special - choice of 3, we had plain, curry shrimp, and channa), and fish stew. Everything was delicious! Now I finally have a place in the neighborhood to cure my doubles cravings! And p.s. if you like spice, make sure to try their habanero sauce (came with the stewed fish), it is legit! No MN nice spice, here. Do yourself a favor and check this place out!

Wow, we can't wait to order again. Anisa was so kind and everything we tried was delicious. Curry chicken, stew chicken, curry shrimp, lo mein and doubles, yum! And the red hot sauce is actually spicy with great flavor.

Fantastic Trinidadian meal from Channa Kitchen! Awesome to have this unique cuisine locally. All the dishes had great flavor. Good portion size and everything was packaged up nicely. We had curry chicken, stew chicken, lo mein with shrimp, and Pholourie. Roti was nice and flaky and pepper sauce was . Can’t wait to go back again and definitely adding some doubles to the next order. Just wish they had chicken curry on the menu IYKYK

When I arrived, I Felt so welcome I was actually surprised of how clean and tidy the kitchen was the owner met us at the door right away. I felt like I was a part of her family. She is one of the sweetest most kind person I’ve ever met about the food. It was absolutely delicious. And very flavorful .

One day I decided to check out google maps and see if there was any Trinidad restaurants out there besides Harry Singh. (I never know when Harry is open anymore). Found this hidden gem, read all the reviews (by the way, it’s all 5 stars). Checked out the website and I was impressed with what channa kitchen had on their menu. The polourie, aloo pies, good luck finding those dishes anywhere else in Minneapolis. Today (Sunday 18th August 2024), finally placed an order for stew chicken, curry chicken, bake n shrimp (which was the special of the weekend), polourie and aloo pies. I’m currently in a food coma as I type out this review for Anisa’s channa kitchen. Not only is the food super authentic, the owner Anisa is very polite, nice, just a bundle of joy. As a fellow Trinidadian being able to talk my natural dialect with another Trini was such a joy. She really is awesome, and well the food, just GREAT! AUTHENTIC!! Eating Anisa food took me back to Trinidad in so many ways. Get yourself some of Anisa’s Trini cuisine, you’ll NOT be disappointed.
